Mizhrichynskyi Regional Landscape Park is a unique area that includes forests, part of the Kyiv reservoir, sands, swamps and wetlands, small lakes and patelliform depressions, filled with flood waters in spring. One of the largest wetland arrays of Chernihiv Polissia is the hydrological reserve of local importance “Bondarivske swamp”. Swamp area – 1,300 ha (3,212 acres), length – 13 km (8 mi), it is drained by the upper reaches of the Mesha river (a tributary of Desna).
Bondarivske swamp represents the natural complexes of the area. This is a lowland swamp, covered with meadow vegetation (tall sedge and marsh groups, lots of flowers, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine) and surrounded by mixed forests. Near the water one can often see trees sheared by beavers. Spring flood waters cover huge territories.
You can drive to the swamp by regional road R-69 Chernihiv – Vyshgorod
