Lake Synevyr (or the Sea Eye) is the largest lake in the Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine. It is located in Inner Gorgany massif. Belongs to the National natural preserve “Synevyr”.
The lake formed about ten thousand years ago at an elevation of 989 meters (3,245 ft) above sea level. Surface area – 6 ha (15 acres). Synevyr landscapes are unbelievably picturesque and beautiful: steep slopes, fir trees, almost touching the water's surface. There is a very small island in the middle of the lake with an area of a few square meters which is called the Sea Eye (Morske Oko).
Last spring frosts can be even in mid-June, first autumn frosts – in early September. The water temperature in summer is +10-13° C.
