Aktovsky Canyon (or Devil's Canyon) is located on the Mertvovid river near the Aktove village (Voznesensky district, Mykolaiv region). The canyon is over 40-50 m (165 ft) deep, its area exceeds 250 hectares (618 acres).
This is a unique set of granite rocks, boulders, steppe and aquatic ecosystems – it’s a unique place in the entire Europe. The Devil Canyon resembles the world-famous canyons of North America.
Natural complex of the Aktovsky Canyon is a part of the regional landscape park “Granite-steppe lands of Buh”.
